The event
Bring Tudor history to life through the rooms, objects and documents in Strangers' Hall, a former home of Tudor merchants and mayors.
- Describe and explain political, religious and social changes during and after Tudor times by analysing the wills of different owners of the Hall from the 16th and early 17th centuries.
- Explore a Tudor-style bedroom and parlour, analysing objects and inventories in order to build up a picture of how the Tudors lived.
- Discover other Tudor-style rooms including the Great Hall, where the high table is set for a feast, and the Great Chamber, where politics and business were carried out.
Also available is an optional self-led walking trail of Tudor sights including Reformation churches, former monasteries, a Protestant martyr's memorial and the site of Kett's Rebellion.
